So I thought I'd take a little time to show off some of my recent knitting projects. One of my goals this summer was to learn how to knit socks.....Mission Accomplished!!!!

First decent pair that I made.....(actually my second pair of socks)

Next nice pair.....wrong gauge....little too small for me....oh well...I will have to search out feet to fit in them!

Currently a work in progress (wip) first experimentation with ribbing on the top of the foot....and more importantly, they are the correct gauge, so I will be able to wear them!

Pictures of my sock yarn stash...can't wait to work with all my beautiful yarns! Of course, I won't want to wear the finished socks too much cuz I don't want them to wear out! Arrgghh!!

Next time, I will have to show off my most recent Waldorf doll! My other goal this year was to learn how to crochet the base for the wig....which I finally figured out last week! A very productive summer so far!

The Turtle

Since this is a new blog, I have decided to go back in time and tell a few stories about what has happened so far this month....The weekend of July 4th, John decided to clean the patio and trim the plants back there before our cookout. While he was trimming, he found a mouse family living under a hideous Florida-looking plant which I have always hated. So he decided to get rid of the plant and he found a turtle that was living under it as well...

Here is a picture of Buster looking at the turtle....wishing he could go outside and chase it!

John taking a short break...

On July 4th, we had a few friends over to celebrate the holiday with a traditional American cookout including bacon cheddar burgers, corn on the cob, watermelon, deviled eggs and apple pie. Here are John, Christine and Neil (from England....we have been having fun learning BSL).

Me and John on the 4th.....

All in all, the month of July started out pretty well for us! Now if only I can keep my blog current.......
