Happy Halloween!

Halloween Jaywalkers

I finished my Halloween Jaywalkers last night and they were a hit at work today (so were my gooey pumpkin bars).

Here are our Halloween decorations. Too bad we've only had 1 trick-or-treater so far....and that was our next door neighbor....more candy for us!

Jinkies! Zoinks! Rrooby Roo!

Last night, our knitting group of friends had a Halloween party at Robyn's house. The majority of us were in costume. I didn't take too many pics, but a fun time was had by all!

Me, John and Bairu (Robyn's dog...I think that's how you spell it?) as Velma, Shaggy and Scooby Doo...with Robyn in the background

Oh no! I didn't get a picture of Eileen and her family!

My newest project is to get a pair of jaywalkers done for Halloween...will keep you updated on that! I am using yarn I got from LoveSticks on etsy. She sent me the 2 colors I ordered (Trick or Treat and Count Sockula...both are self-striping) and a hand-stamped thank you card, a candy stick and a cute little rubber ducky mummy keychain! What an awesome yarn dyer!

ASL Expo 2007

ASL Expo

Last weekend, John, DJ and I went to ASL Expo in Kissimmee. We had been to previous Expo's (DeafExpo amd DeafNation Expo) and I was really looking forward to this one. The main reason was because my all-time fave ASL comedian was going to be performing...Keith Wann. Unfortunately due to a family emergency, he was unable to make it!

It was very crowded at the Expo and we did see a lot of old friends. It was a lot smaller than other Expos we have been to and we finished looking at everything in about an hour and we didn't really even buy anything either. I get very overwhelmed in crowded situations so I was not a happy camper most of the day.

We decided to leave and head out to Friendly's for lunch/dinner. Yum! I miss Friendly's, we had one where I lived in Maryland, so any time we go to Kissimmee a stop for Friendly's is mandatory! Expecially for a Butter Crunch Sundae!

We went back to the Expo for the raffle drawings and we were 1 number away from winning a 50 inch TV! Rats!

I have been Tag-ged!

FiredupFairy tagged me with the 8 Random Things Meme, so here it goes!

1. I am obsessed (completely and utterly obsessed) with the painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by George Seurat. I am so obsessed that I based my living room around the painting...I have the poster framed above my couch, which is in complementary colors....I have it on a puzzle, coffee cup, playing cards and showcard poster in the living room too.

2. Being obsessed with this painting, my favorite musical is Sunday in the Park with George by Sondheim. I have the Broadway showcard up in the living room and also the DVD (with Bernadette Peters and my fave Mandy Patinkin) and I have the musical score in my iPod, the piano book and the script!

3. I love anything Muppets and Peanuts. I have most of the DVDs and a bunch of books featuring Muppets and Peanuts in my collection.

4. Even though I was a Music Theatre Major in college and I love musicals, I only have 18 musicals in my DVD collection.

5. I have always loved being an only child.

6. Since I was a child, I have always dreamed about being an author of children's books.

7. Every autumn, I have to buy a Cinnamon broomstick to hang in the house.

8. My highlights are almost grown out and this is the first time in 17 years I have seen my natural hair color....and I kinda like it.

I'm not tagging anyone...if you are reading my blog and want to do this meme, just go ahead and do it and leave me a comment so I can check it out!

Sorry for the lack of links...I'm on my laptop and I haven't bookmarked all of my sites and blogs on it yet.....
